A 1990 graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Paul Yang has performed pre- and post-operative examinations for a multitude of conditions, including glaucoma, cataract, LASIK, and corneal transplant. He has worked with patients of all ages, from six-day-old newborns to centenarians.
Dr. Yang served the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) for a decade as one of only seventeen Chief Examiners. The NBEO protects the public by evaluating the competency of Doctors of Optometry seeking licensure to practice.
Dr. Yang easily empathizes with his patients due to his own history. He is highly nearsighted with a fair degree of astigmatism, and he suffers from severe dry eyes and chronic allergic conjunctivitis. He also has glaucoma and has undergone cataract surgery to receive implants in both eyes. He wears glasses most of the time.
Dr. Yang has actively participated in pre- and post-op care in over 20,000 cataract procedures. He is a member of the Optometric Retina Society and the Optometric Glaucoma Society, and is certified as a Paragon CRT, Contex OKE, Boston VST, and Focus Night and Day fitter.
