Dr. Arthur Epstein

Dr. Arthur B. Epstein  grew up in the Bronx, New York,and now lives in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Epstein is a graduate of the City College of New York, CUNY, and he received his O.D. degree from the State University of New York, State College of Optometry, where he was the college's first resident in ocular disease.

Dr. Epstein has been invited to give more than 1,000 lectures all over the world on a variety of eye care topics. He is also the author of hundreds of articles, scientific papers and book chapters. He is a Contributing Editor for Review of Optometry and Executive Editor of Review of Cornea and Contact Lenses. He founded Optometric Physician™, the first E-Journal in optometry, and serves as its Chief Medical Editor. Dr. Epstein also serves as a reviewer for numerous scientific eye care journals. Dr. Epstein led the American Optometric Association’s response to the international Fusarium keratitis outbreak of 2005–2006, during which time he was frequently quoted in news media all over the world and appeared on Good Morning America. He also spoke before the US Congress about contact lens safety.

Professional Memberships:

Dr. Epstein is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Arizona Optometric Association, and the AOA Contact Lens & Cornea Section.  He has served as a founding Board member of the American Optometric Society, and founded the American Board of Clinical Optometry.
